Stitch & Repair with Dani Saulus
Bring your well-loved clothing to learn how to repair it yourself with sewing and alterations expert Dani Saulus.
About Dani Saulus
I’m a seamstress in Whistler since 11 years now and used to own Whistler Alterations for 8 years. After a creative break in Lululemon I’m now coming back to support the community with my services again.
I come from a family of tailors and love making people feel comfortable and beautiful in their clothes. Being able to fix a beloved piece for someone and seeing their happy face makes my day!
Slow Stitching with Casper
The practice of slowly stitching for small scale needs has existed since the beginning of needlework. The present need for slow and mindful crafting, now known as Slow Stitching, grew out of the Slow Food Movement and disabled crafters who experienced the need for a more accessible shift in textile art and sewing trades.
In this workshop, participants will explore various textile materials, learn and lean into the pleasure of textile art through crafting with intention and slowness. We will share and learn various stitches and applique techniques working with colorful and tactile fibers, salvaged fabrics, beads, buttons, and other chosen materials
