The Chair Series

16 monologues. 8 actors. 1 writer.

The Point Artist-Run Centre is exciting to have The Chair Series back at the lodge! Written and directed by Vancouver playwright John McGie, The Chair Series is theatre at its most fundamental level. There are no large props, costumes or elaborate sets. The only prop is a chair for each actor and some sound to augment the story. The actors rely solely on their craft and the script that McGie has written specifically for each player. The pieces stand on their own, but also flow into one another to create an overall arc to the show. The performance at The Point on Saturday, February 1st and will feature actors from Whistler & Squamish.

Flag Stop in the Fall presents “Aye Aye AI”

The Flag Stop Theatre & Arts Festival presents "Aye Aye AI" written by Stephen Vogler and directed by Kathy Daniels and Carla Fuhre. Desperately in need of a new play script, and the Canada Council funding that will keep their theatre company alive, Sarah, Trueman, Liz and Dwight settle on the obvious solution: employ Open Source AI’s Chat GPT to write it for them. What could go wrong? Plenty, it turns out as this play within a play spins into a comedic tug-of-war between real life thespians and a couple of audacious AI characters. Featuring David Francis, Susan Hutchinson, Emma Strong and Andrew Wood.
