Unleash your creativity, reclaim your power as an actor, through writing your story, and igniting the stage with your emotional truth and imaginative flair. Join us for a transformative workshop experience and embark on an inspiring journey of self-expression. With Cecilia’s support rediscover your voice through drafting your monologue, drawing from your lived experiences and imagination. Akshaya Pattanayak, a Vancouver Film School acting teacher and graduate of USC's Masters program in Theatre, will provide acting coaching, helping bring the monologues to life with dynamic power acting techniques.

Performance: By Donation

Experience the raw talent of Cecilia in her donation-based performance, where she shares excerpts from her original solo play in development, "Young Widow." Witness the unfolding of this inspired work in development, before it graces the stage on Granville Island in September.

Artist Description:

Cecilia Splendiferous, a dynamic creative with a varied background spanning behind the scenes in television, film, and theater, as well as a graduate of Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts and member of the chair series, brings her myriad of experience to this workshop. She'll unveil the secrets behind her upcoming solo performance, "Young Widow," scheduled for the Vancouver Fringe Festival this September. As an Artist in Residence at The Point Artist Run Centre, Cecilia wrote "Young Widow" as a play inspired by lived experiences as a young widow, infused with humor and imagination. Join us for an inspiring exploration of storytelling as Cecilia shares her process and empowers participants to embrace their own narratives.
