This four week course offers the fundamentals of oil or acrylic painting for every skill level, from the absolute beginner to the experienced artist. Over 4 weekly lessons we will learn the essentials of drawing, composition, colour mixing, and achieving depth and textures, completing one full painting over 4 classes. Whether completely new to holding a brush, an experienced acrylic painter eager to learn oils, an oil painter interested in acrylics, or an expert artist who wants to paint in a group setting, this class is for you.

All materials are provided, though students are asked to bring a stretched canvas in the size of their choosing (minimum 12 x 16”, available at Garibaldi Graphics), and a reference image they would like to paint.

Lacey Jane Wilburn is a contemporary artist most notable for her paintings of portraits and interior space that undulate between gesture and realism with a raw authenticity.
